There are four ways of using Suppression data:
- Permanent Flagging — payment for returning configured Suppression DataPlus elements in output address records which were matched against Suppression data. For example, this is used when returning a flag to a customer database as a permanent record of a suppression match.
- One-off Suppression — payment for suppressing records. For example, this is used when you want to remove an address record during an export (e.g. when creating a mailing list, minus those people you don't want to mail).
- NCOA Tracking Mode — payment for exporting forwarding addresses which were matched against NCOA data. Forwarding addresses can only be returned if tracking mode is enabled.
- Dual mode – Does not differentiate between Permanent Flagging and One-off Suppression.
Payment for Suppression data is made via a meter.
