Summary

This document explains how credits are charged within the On Demand portal and the different types of transition states.

Solution

There are four different types of transitions that can appear in your Usage History:

  • Too Many Matches
  • No Match
  • Search Result
  • Pick List.

A credit is only charged for each Pick List of addresses that is returned containing up to 100 addresses. If a search brings back over 100 addresses, a credit will not be charged and you will be asked to refine your search. This search will have a transition of Too Many Matches in your Usage History.

If a search is conducted and no pick list is returned, this is not charged and will have a transition of No Match in your Usage History.

If a final address is selected from the pick list, this is not charged and will have a transition of Search Result in your Usage History. This means if you pick the wrong address, return back to the pick list and pick a different address, you will not incur any extra credit charges.

Please see the image below for an example of the four types of transitions and their charges.
