Instructions: How to perform the mandatory upgrade QAS Batch

Attention QAS Batch customers!

To continue to use QAS Batch (U.S. and Canadian data) past July 31st 2011, you must update your existing installation.
To proceed, please follow the steps below.

1. Get detailed download and installation instructions

Please select your QAS Batch installation by clicking on the link applies to you:
I want to update an installation of…

Not sure which version you have? Go to 'Start' > 'Programs' > QAS Batch (API)
"API" will only appear if you have the API version installed

2. Make sure you have what you need to successfully upgrade

  • Installation images: Obtaining these is outlined in the installation instructions. During the week of May 23rd we will be shipping physical images to your designated Experian QAS Updates contact via mail. All images downloaded from our FTP site are in ZIP format and will require a tool such as WinZip to unzip them.
  • Time to complete installation: The time taken to download the images from the FTP site will vary based on your Internet connection. Once the images are available on your system the upgrade should take approximately one hour to install and test.
  • Appropriate license keys: These will be provided in your initial upgrade email and they are also available in the ‘qalicn.ini’ file within your existing installation of QAS Batch.
  • The location of your existing installation of QAS Batch: To locate your existing installation, navigate to ‘Start’, ‘Programs’, QAS Batch , right click over the QAS Batch program and click ‘Properties’. This will display the folder in which the product is installed. If you are using QAS Batch API you may have an alternative working directory for your integration to update.
  • Additional disk space. A new set of data files approximating 3GB for US and 1GB for Canada will be necessary. In most cases following a successful update the replaced versions can be deleted to free up hard disk space.

NOTE: To ensure a quicker installation time it is highly recommended to download images downloaded from the FTP site as outlined in the upgrade instructions available in step 1.
