How do I install DataPlus for Rapid?

Summary

QAS Rapid can be enhanced by DataPlus sets, which provide additional information on a postcode search. This information varies from geodemographic descriptors to easting and northing co-ordinate data. The following document is a step by step guide to the configuration of Rapid to return DataPlus information when a search is conducted.

Installation of DataPlus:

DataPlus files are included on the Databases CD. Insert this CD and run the setup.exe file. The window in figure 1 explains that for files to be installed, an install directory must be specified. For DataPlus, this should be the same as the folder specified as the data directory during the Rapid install. Click next:

As the window in figure 2 explains, you should close all QAS software before proceeding. Once these requirements are met, click next:

At the screen in figure 3, select the “Perform data install” option and click next:

It is now necessary (Figure 4) to specify the directory into which the DataPlus files will install. Click the “Add” button and locate the data directory specified during the Rapid install (c:\qaddress\pafdata by default). Once you have found the directory, click “OK” and then click next:

The screen in figure 5 allows you to select the DataPlus files for which you have a licence key. Double click on the red “No” under the Install field and enter the password you have been given and click OK. Once you have selected all the DataPlus files you require, click finish.

Once the DataPlus has been installed, you can configure Rapid to return it. Open the Rapid Configuration tool and select DataPlus selection:

Insert the appropriate number of lines and then click “Edit” to select the DataPlus element for each line.
