How Do I Configure Rapid to Return DataPlus?

Summary

QuickAddress products such as Rapid can include DataPlus sets which provide additional information on a postcode search. This information varies from geodemographic descriptors to easting and northing co-ordinate data (List of DataPlus Sets). The following document is a step by step guide to the configuration of Rapid to return DataPlus information when a search is conducted.

Rapid DataPlus Configuration:

Locate the Rapid folder within the Start menu, by going to Start > (All) Programs > QuickAddress Rapid. Click on the “Configuration” link. The window in figure 1 will appear. Notice the “Layout” drop-down menu. The layout being configured can be changed here. Click on the “DataPlus selection” button:

The screen below (Figure 2) allows you to add DataPlus elements to your Rapid searches. Click the “Insert” button to add a line. This can be performed for as many lines as are required. Once the required number of lines has been added, click on the “Edit” button:

The Edit Line box will appear (Figure 3) and contain all the installed DataPlus sets available. To select a DataPlus set, double click on it and click “OK”. Repeat this process for as many DataPlus sets as you require, each time adding a new line. Once the required sets have been added, click “OK” in the “DataPlus Selection” box. Save the QuickAddress Rapid Configuration and click “Exit”.

Start Rapid and conduct a postcode search as normal. Click on Layout and select the appropriate layout which contains the DataPlus information. Notice the additional window containing the DataPlus information (Figure 4). These additional lines can be pasted with the address into an underlying application.
